Joe Burby

“A real estate deal is not a zero-sum event. Everyone should come out of it a winner, and I like to facilitate that for all of my clients.” Specializing in rentals and sales, Joe Burby has a deep knowledge of NYC, and great respect for his clients’ time and needs. He goes above and beyond to be attentive, detail-oriented and hands-on, to ensure that the real estate process is smooth and successful for everyone involved. He is driven by his strong passion for the city where he has lived for 30 years, the last 22 of which have been spent in his favorite borough, Manhattan. Originally from Upstate New York, Joe received a BA in Theater Performance and spent 18 years as Account Manager in educational sales. His acting background complements his sales skills, affording him to be a keen observer with excellent people skills and negotiating savvy. Joe also taught elementary school and directs children’s theater, honing the arts of patience, humor, calmness and communication at which he excels. Joe has proudly owned and occupied a co-op apartment in Inwood for 17+ years. Prior to that, he was a renter in Astoria and Brooklyn. He offers in-depth knowledge of his neighborhood as well as many other areas on the UWS and throughout NYC. A trained actor and voiceover artist, Joe’s VO work has been featured at several NYC museums and Ellis Island. He is married with two sons. Joe additionally works with Inside Broadway as a scenic painter/teacher, and directs children’s theater shows at Pied Piper Children’s Theater of NYC. In his free time, he enjoys motorcycling, travel, camping, and doing volunteer gardening in his local neighborhood. Joe is also a singer, and plays guitar and five-string banjo!
